The Nursery Guild Hall

Early-years activities and room displays, posted as quests and tagged against the EYFS areas of learning. Free text search first, filters to narrow — the whole library is here with no sign-up, and every record carries the rank that says how much of it a human has checked.

Wooden brick pattern race activity

The quest

Four children, one tray of bricks and wooden wheels, and a pattern to copy: red, yellow, red, yellow, then red, yellow, what comes next? Nobody has to read it, and nobody has to be right about anything except the next brick. Children who race ahead and build a long road learn the same thing more slowly than children who copy one turn at a time. Stop while they still want another one — this game is ten minutes of attention at full strength, not twenty.
